Fire test of construction materials
Fire Test of Construction Materials
Implementation the latest fire test of construction materials according to the ASTM E84 standard to determine the surface burning characteristics is provided. Fire testing of construction materials, includes the burning behavior of materials used for example in walls and ceilings. This test is by positioning the sample at furnace roof so that the assessing surface is downwards and in direct contact with flame source. The purpose of this test is to determine the relative burning behavior of the material by observing the fire spread throughout the sample. Flame spread and smoke density (concentration), are two important parameters that are evaluated in this test. Checking the flame spread and smoke density of test sample is by comparing the results of two similar parameters derived from burning Oak wood and cement board. In order to respond to the needs of industries such as oil, gas, petrochemical and construction industries, the ability to perform this test on a sample of one meter length, five hundred and eight mm width and a thickness up to ten centimeters is provided at Razi Metallurgical Research Center’s performance laboratory.

Thermal humidity chamber - type GT-7005-AT2, in order to simulate a wide range of environmental conditions at temperatures from -20 to 100 ° C and humidity range of 30 to 95% and on a diverse range of samples and products is being used. The capability to test samples with different temperature - humidity conditions such as constant temperature and humidity and also humidity and thermal cycles is provided. Another feature of these test devices are refrigeration to a temperature of - 20 ° C and embedded double valve in the wall. Therefore the functional efficiency of electrical equipment and components, such as parts used in automotive or other industries by applying current / voltage in different conditions of temperature and humidity, is possible. This research is based on various standards such as national test standards, ASTM, KES, EN, ISO and JIS and in the absence of standard, simulation based on real conditions of operation, can be performed.
