Corrosion and coating laboratory
Corrosion also known as degradation of material is the disintegration of a material
at its micro constituent level due to chemical reactions with its surroundings environment.
There are several modes and forms of corrosion and its mechanism.
Corrosion testing helps to estimate component service life, compare candidate materials
in the service environment, and help screen materials and their condition. RMRC
corrosion testing laboratory offers testing of materials to verify conformation
to various industry standards.
Corrosion testing laboratory can certify materials meeting corrosion and material
specifications for standards such as ASTM, NACE, MTI, ISO, ASME, AWS and API.
Corrosion testing laboratory is capable of performing a wide range of laboratory
testing from various standard test procedures to customized test programs. RMRC
corrosion testing laboratory specializes in the practical application of advanced
analytical techniques in studying failures and recommending corrective actions.
RMRC specializes in determining how components fail and work with the clients to
find the root cause of the failures and the most efficient corrective action.
We will then work to determine if it is better to take corrective action to deal
with the immediate concerns or pursue a root cause analysis, which determines the
decisions and/ or conditions that resulted in an inappropriate design or material
to be used in the first place. We perform failure analysis for a wide variety of
industries. With the help of analytical tools and expertise one can define the mode
of failure (fatigue, corrosion, material defect, overload, etc.). Our facility,
equipped with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), EDS (Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer),
FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscope) and other metallographic and analytical
equipment, provides our technical and laboratory personnel with the tools they need
to expedite the investigation of your failure. Our corrosion lab complements the
failure analysis investigations by allowing testing of replacement materials for
your application in a laboratory environment or in the field
